The Rev. Dr. Felipe N. Martínez serves as pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Columbus. Born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, he is a fourth-generation Presbyterian whose ministry reflects a deep commitment to the global and multicultural church.

Ordained in 1992, Martínez holds degrees from Austin College and McCormick Theological Seminary, where he earned both his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry. His vocational journey has included congregational leadership, presbytery ministry, and denominational service, including work in Hispanic ministries and mid council leadership.

His ministry is shaped by a theology of God’s abundance, a commitment to cultivating cross-cultural relationships, and a passion for helping congregations embody faith through worship, community engagement, and acts of compassion.
