Frances and Sean Conversation with Rev. Sungwoo Sam Kim
Rev. Sung Woo “Sam” Kim serves as the Transitional Associate Executive Presbyter for the Presbytery of San Francisco, where he supports congregations and leaders through seasons of transition, discernment, and adaptive change. He brings a strong commitment to cultivating communities that are attentive to context, culture, and the movement of the Spirit in a rapidly changing world.
Prior to this role, Sam served as pastor of Oikos Church in Atlanta, a new worshiping community shaped by intentional relationships, shared practices, and a deep engagement with its surrounding neighborhood. His ministry has consistently centered on forming leaders who can navigate diverse cultural realities and embody the gospel in everyday life.
Sam is also engaged in broader denominational and leadership development work, including his involvement with the ACCENT network, where he helps lead conversations and workshops focused on cultural awareness, intercultural ministry, and the dynamics that shape how communities understand and engage difference. His work reflects a passion for helping the church grow in wisdom, humility, and faithful presence across cultures.
