Frances Lin
& Sean Chow

Candidates for Co-Moderators
227th General Assembly (2026)
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)

Frances Lin and Sean Chow are standing as candidates for Moderator of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), grounded in a shared vision of the church as a people rooted in God’s abundance and called to bear hope, healing, and blessing in the world.

Together, they bring vast experience across congregational ministry, mid council leadership, General Assembly service, and national denominational work. They have been entrusted with leadership at multiple levels of the church and have walked alongside congregations and leaders navigating change with faithfulness and care.

Their vision is shaped by Revelation 22:2—a tree of life rooted in God’s presence, bearing fruit in every season, with leaves given for the healing of the nations.

They believe this image calls the church to live from grace rather than scarcity, to engage difference with humility, and to offer a hopeful, prophetic witness grounded in love.

If called to serve, Frances Lin and Sean Chow would approach the role of Moderator as companions within the church—listening deeply, convening faithfully, and encouraging shared discernment across the whole body. Whether or not they are called, they remain grateful for the life and witness of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and trust the Spirit’s ongoing work among us.

“Through the middle of the street of the city.
On either side of the river is the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit,
producing its fruit each month,
and the leaves of the tree
are for the healing of the nations.”

Revelations 22:2

God’s Abundance

A connectional church called to belonging, becoming, and beloved.

God’s abundance is not about having more. It is about trusting that in Christ, we already have what we need to be faithful. This abundance is not something the church must create or defend. It is a gift we receive and live into together.

We understand God’s abundance through three movements of faith:

Belonging

Before we agree, lead, or contribute, we belong—to God and to one another. The church is called to be a community where we are bound together by grace, where difference is not a threat, and where relationship comes before role. In God’s abundance, we do not stand alone; we are formed in community.

Becoming

Belonging opens the way to becoming. God continues to form the church through growth, change, and faithful risk-taking. Becoming means letting go of what no longer gives life and trusting the Spirit to shape new expressions of leadership, mission, and community.

Beloved

At the heart of God’s abundance is the truth that we are beloved. Our worth is not measured by numbers or success, but by God’s naming of us. From belovedness flows generosity, courage, and hope for the healing of the world.
